Linear oscillating drive with DC:pulsed coil - has coil oscillating over two bar magnets and inside ring pole

The linear oscillating drive consists of a coil supplied with pulsed DC. As the current is switched on and off the coil oscillates linearly in a magnetic field. The coil (6) is wound on a hollow former (5) located over two end to end permanent bar magnets (1, 2) and inside a ring pole (14). The outer ends of the bar magnets are joined via a permeable yoke (O) that also supports the ring pole. The former is loaded by a helical spring (11) around one bar magnet and is linked by an arm (8) at one end to the object being moved linearly.
