<p>Bituminous binder consist of (A) 80-99.5 wt.% vacuum residue with R & B softening point 20-50 degrees C, and (B) 0.1-20% coal tar oil. (B) pref. has boiling range 240-350 degrees C and the compsn. pref. also contains 0.1-0.5 wt.% bonding agent e.g. a fatty acid amine. Used as binders for mineral aggregates used in road surfacing and coatings. Resistance to storage is improved, the prods. showing unchanged quality after prolonged transport. They remain processable at low external temps.</p> |
