<p>To provide a convenient length of hose while maintaining the temp. of the warmed air until it reaches the patient, the hose is made double-walled with the hose is made double-walled with cavities or heat-insulation lining. The two walls are connected, at least at the end, pref. by means of the connector in which the hose terminates. In one version a hose is shrunk onto a spiral spring a fitted with an outer (rubber or plastic) tube. An inner tube might also be fitted. The two walls might be extrusion moulded with cross bars between to maintain the separation. A spiral spring could be fitted inside. Cotton wool, glass fibre, etc., could be packed between the hose walls, or the walls themselves made by thickening the surface of a hose made of cellular material.</p> |
