The inductance coil for metal forming by an impulsive magnetic field has a cylindrical body provided with a number of circumferential grooves (2). Each groove is filled with a spiral coil of flat wire (5). The inner ends of each coil (5) are attached to a rod (7) mounted in a hole (8) parallel to the axis of the body. This rod is secured by a number of screws (10) in tapped holes (11) in the ribs (9) between the grooves (2). Connecting the coils (5) in series in this manner reduces the ohmic resistance of the whole coil and increases the efficiency of the metal forming process.
