1484777 Bearings NADELLA and A PITNER 13 Jan 1975 [23 Jan 1974] 1314/75 Addition to 1433953 Heading F2A The elastically yieldable collar of the radial rolling bearing assembly disclosed in the parent Specification is constituted by a ring 3 of thin material shaped to be capable of deformation under high radial loads to provide a rigid support for at least part of the sleeve 6. The ring may be provided with slots spaced circumferentially and extending between the edge portions 16 of the ring; such slots may extend obliquely with respect to the ring axis. The assembly may be contained in a cylindrical plastics or steel sheath. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5), the ring has a corrugated circumferential profile extending between the sleeve 6 and the bore 1 of the support member. The ring may be of steel or nylon. |
