Function and interference indicator for motor vehicle ignition system - uses optical means attached to spark plugs or supply cables

The interference and/or function indicator is intended for motor vehicle ignition systems. An optical indicator is provided either on the spark plug connector and/or on the ignition cables. Preferably the indicator is contained in a transition piece between the respective spark plug and cable. Alternately the indicator may be contained in a transition piece between the distributor head and the respective cable. It may be also contained in the distributor head proper. Typically the indicator is contained in a housing with a through passage to permit insertion on the cable. It is also possible to incorporate the indicator into a testing pin or tongs.
