摘要 <p>Device for the safe breakage of a glas ampoule in a sealable chamber which is partly formed by the swivel cock of a valve, and in which the contents of the ampoule are mixed with a flowing stream of a carrier medium, e.g. a gas. The chamber has an inlet for the carrier and an outlet for the mixt., both fitted with valves; and the ampoule can be broken by hand operation of the swivel cock. The pref. device includes three valves connected together via. two T-pieces, the latter being used for the supply of the carrier gas and the removal of the mixt. At least the T-piece used for removal of the mixt. is fitted with a fine sieve which retains particles of broken glass. Used when investigating air flow, e.g. in motor vehicles, where radioactive krypton 85 is mixed with compressed air which is then used in experiments during which the Kr can be detected. Complete safety, is provided as the gas tightness of the device can be tested before the ampoule is broken.</p>
