Underground lifter for railway vehicles - with stationary casing pipe for motor driven threaded spindle

The underground lifter for railway vehicles comprises at least one lifting element (10) with lifing bars (13) which can be moved upwards out of a stationary casing pipe (12) by a motor-driven threaded spindle (11). On the lifting bars are beams (14) which project outwards at an angle to the direction of lifting and which support a wheel receiving profile (15) disposed outside the plane of movement of the lifting bars. The lifting element is located in a shaft (17) adjoining a surface (16) over which the railway vehicle travels, and its beams and wheel receiving profile can be lowered to a position at least almost flush with the plane of this surface.
