<p>Heat pump comprises a first compressor (1) for basic heat requirements which extracts heat from a heat carrier and transfers its heat from subcooling to a storage heater (11), and a second compressor (2) for peak heat requirements which extracts heat from the storage heater. Pref. the heat from subcooling of the first compressor is passed directly to the evaporator (7) of the second compressor. Pref. the heat carrier is preheated by the condenser of the first compressor, then heated to final temp. by the condenser of the second compressor. The storage heater may use earth as the storage medium, to which excess heat is returned from the two compressors.</p> |
