1484774 Floating workshop D RUTHNER 8 Jan 1975 836/75 Heading B7S [Also in Division A1] In a method for cultivating organisms, particularly plants, they are carried on an endlessly circulating conveyer 4, in which they are subjected to favourable growth conditions by transporting the plant-carrying conveyer 4 on a vehicle, which may be a ship 1 from a charging station to a suitable climatic location. The conveyer 4 comprises either horizontal 3 or vertical (not shown) plant carriers held at both ends by two endless chains 5 and it is housed in a transparent-walled cultivation room 2. The plants are grown hydroponically, then harvested and may be processed or preserved in a unit 8 and they or their products are then stored in the bottom deck 9, where an engine 10 is also housed. A computer and equipment for controlling the environment in the cultivation room 2 is on the middle deck 7. The ship off-loads the plants, their extracts or their metabolic products wherever in the world a need arises. Instead of a ship, the plants may be carried on a land, air or astronautical vehicle. |
