The bush 40 is adjustably mounted on a support pin 32 by set screws 44 and the height selected determines the length of the punch stroke. A stop 28, or an axial set screw (54), Fig. 3 (not shown), projecting from the face 30 of the pin 20, engage the surface 41 of the pin 32 with the same effect. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), there are passages 62, 64, in the pin 20 leading to the face 30 into which lubricating oil in the bore 42 is pumped during a punching stroke. The punch 16 and pins 20 and 32 have tapered mounting portions located in complementary bores.</p> |
