The height gauge and marking tool with air suspension consists of a flat levelling block (1) on which rests a movable mounting block (3) supporting a vertical column (4) for the tool arm (5). The mounting block has a pneumatically-adjusted foot (9-12) in each corner. The block is supported on ball bearings set in receivers in each foot. The static setting is adjustable for height by means of a spring-loaded screw. Each foot comprises a flat cylindrical block having a shallow depression on its underside which is connected by flexible air hose to a filter and pressure-regulating valve assembly (18). From this, a main pneumatic hose (13) is connected to a compressor and reservoir.
