The invention relates to a material-compressing device, used in a plant, for being able to produce a rigid, elongated beam 4 from a loose material 2 wetted with binding agent, comprising a compression section 7 in which components of loose material wetted with binding agent are pressed together, a heating section 5 in which the pressed-together material components are dried and a conveyor device which is arranged to make each material part 2b pressed together in the compression section pass through the heating section 5. The compression section 7 is arranged to assign to a front material component 2a calculated in the direction of feed a greater degree of compression over a short transport distance than a following material component 2b which has been pre- compressed over a long transport distance, this through the use of a worm conveyor 10 as pre-compression means, and to have compressed components 2a,2a' present in the heating section 5 serve as compression rams and generate a final compression when they are displaced towards the compression section by the moving parts 15,16 of the heating section 5. <IMAGE> |
