The window latch comprises two arms hinging together to form a toggle lever moving between the folded and open positions. The free end of the first arm hinges on a transverse axis to a position within the periphery of the fixed frame, and that of the second round one parallel to the first and also one at right angles to it, parallel to the plane of the opening frame. The first arm (8) hinges on the transverse axis (14) in a plane parallel to the fixed frame surface, and the hinge between the two arms (9, 10) allows movement about an axis parallel to the first and also one at right angles to it. The first arm has an actuating knob (16), and also means for locking it in the shut position.
