<p>This table-tennis bat has an almost elliptical blade (10) from which extends a grip (11). The grip axis (12) passes to one side of the centre point (13) of one blade (10). The end (14) of one grip (11) is thicker than its blade end (15) and has its curved sides rounded to provide a more comfortable grip. The thickening of the grip moves the point of balance (25) of the bat closer to the grip to provide a better 'feel' in use. This effect is heightened by continuing the thinning down of the base material from the grip to the tip of the blade. This can also be achieved in a bat of equal thickness by adding weights into the grip.</p> |
