The system for the common display of raster-scanned and stroke-writing types of inputs on a single cathode ray tube screen uses the flyback interval between successive lines for the insertion of additional picture information. Each picture element of the raster-scanned data is first stored in an intermediate memory (1) comprising a pair of charge-coupled devices (3, 4) each of which stores alternate picture elements. The writing speed is controlled by a clock pulse generator (10). After the first line, the input is switched to a second pair of cod's and the second line of the scan is stored in a similar fashion. At the same time, the first line is read out but at a rate 3 times higher than the write frequency. The stroke-writing data can then be inserted in the period between the end of one line and the beginning of the read-out of the next, i.e. two-thirds of the registration time of one line.
|
