Brick blank manufacturing process - interrupts inflowing clay locally to keep clear of mould sidewalls

Process is for the manufacture of brick blanks and similar semifinished ceramic products with recesses open to the outside. A quantity of clay is fed into a mould with protrusions extending from the base, which is then filled by pressing. The inflowing clay is locally interrupted, so that it is fed into the mould clear of the sidewalls and the protrusions. This can be effected by a grating in the path of the clay, in which there are openings clear of the sidewalls and protrusions. Alternatively, auxiliary components can be detachably mounted on the protrusions, their cross-section being larger than the latter but of the same shape, these components being of metal and removable by magnet.
