<p>The vehicle has only one of its axles fitted with a height control to ensure a level ride. The control monitors the spacing between the axle and the chassis and compensates the flow of hydraulic fluid to and from the dampers accordingly. The set point in the control valve is shifted by the pressure in the dampers so that a simple load compensation is obtained. The system eliminates any linkage between the controlled axle and the other, uncontrolled axle. As the loading increases the control automatically reduces the set spacing between the axle and the chassis.</p> |
