<p>The accessory contains the flash-cube socket (4), and the piezo-electric crystal (7) and its striker (8/9). The striker is cocked and released from inside the camera via a coupling pin. Tensioning the camera shutter cocks the piezo-electric striker through the coupling pin (10). If the accessory is now removed from the camera, the coupling pin is latched (20, 21). It can only be released and the striker fired when the accessory is on the camera (22 lifts (20). Alternatively, the coupling pin may be inaccessibly shielded when the accessory is taken from the camera, or again, the coupling pin may be made part of the camera.</p> |
