<p>Process is carried out in a filtration vessel. The liq. filters through the gaps between rings placed one on top of the other. The residue, of turbidity-forming materials and e.g. kieselguhr, is deposited on the outside of the filter candles, whilst the filtrate leaves via the cylindrical interval spaces in the filter candles. The filter vessel is filled with water which is then removed continuously from above the filter candles and recirculated by a pump to a point below the filter candles. Compressed air is introduced with the recirculated water, and leaves the upper part of the vessel at atmos. press. The press. fluctuations break up and permit the flushing out of deposits of kiesel gur formed inside the filter candles.</p> |
