As shown, steam from a generator 12 and air from a compressor 24 are passed through the nozzle 16 to a mixing chamber 12 into which the coal dust is fed from a hopper 34 by a slide valve 44. In a modification (Fig. 2) an annular Laval nozzle surrounds a feed hopper mouth. |
