1484498 Acid dyeable polyesters RHONEPOULENC-TEXTILE 15 Oct 1974 [15 Oct 1973 11 March 1974] 44659/74 Heading C3R A spinnable polyester is derived from (1) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, (2) a diol containing at least three carbon atoms and (3) a compound R 3 N where R is hydrocarbyl and the total number of ester-forming groups is 1 to 3, each esterforming group being separated from the nitrogen atom by at least 3 carbon atoms, the proportion of (3) being such that the polyester contains at least 0À03% by weight of nitrogen. The examples describe preparing polyesters from (1) dimethyl terephthalate, optionally with dimethyl isophthalate, (2) 1,4-butanediol, 1,6- hexanediol or 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol and (3) -N,N - di(w - hydroxyhexyl)benzylamine, N - (3,5 - dimethoxycarbonylbenzyl)piperidine, N,N - di(w - hydroxyhexyl)hexylamine, N(3,5- dimethoxycarbonylbenzyl)din - butylamine, ethyl - 11 - (di - n - butylamino)undecanoate or N-(w-ethoxycarbonylundecyl)morpholine.
