1484292 Igniter cooling arrangement GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 10 Sept 1974 [17 Sept 1973] 39434/74 Headings F4F and F4T An igniter for a gas turbine engine is provided with internal passageways leading from apertures 74 to apertures 76 and with channels 80 in the outer surface of the casing, which channels co-operate with a supporting ferrule 48 to form further passageways for cooling air. The ferrule is geared at one end to receive air and is formed with an indentation 70 at its other end to provide an outlet for the cooling air passing through the channels such that it exits generally perpendicular to the axis of the igniter. The igniter may be the electrical discharge type.
