<p>The coalface conveyor is fitted with an upright wall and a guard fence behind and spaced from it to form the cable trough. The fence (18, 19, 20) can yield under external forces acting from the side. Pref. the fence structure can deform flexibly under lateral forces and may be perforated. The lattice fencing may have a number of longitudinally spaced upright and resilient supports which deflect in the vertical relative to the conveyor sidewall (13), and which are joined up by several long members (19, 20) to complete the fence. The fence may be plugged together from several members (19, 20, 21, 25) so as to release under powerful longitudinal forces. The member are coupled by rigid connectors (25).</p> |
