Three point power transmission chain - has load transmission pins spaced from locating pins

The links of a power transmission chain have two separate rows of pins. One set of pins pass through holes in the ends of the adjacent links and transmit the load. A second set of pins pass through bushes arranged at the mid point of the inner edge of each link. The pins at the ends of the links transmit the load. The pins at the midpoints of the links engage the teeth of the chain wheels. The load bearing pins are thus not subjected to wear as is the case with the inner row of pins which engage the chain wheel teeth.
