<p>Rotor disc (1) intended for a gas or steam turbine is arranged in a casing with, on one side of the disc, a high pressure chamber (2) and, on the other side, a low-pressure chamber (3), whilst seals prevent leakage from one chamber to the other or to atmosphere. The disc has axial apertures (4) through which the pressurised fluid can flow to a nozzle (5) with outlet (6), which is directed tangentially so that the fluid emerging from the outlet causes a reaction which rotates the disc and produces mechanical energy at the output shaft (7).</p> |
