A folding press heavy beam remains on the press during tool changing. The tool carrier and tool are removable. Smaller, lighter tools of expensive abrasion resistant steel are interchangeable. A carrier of structural grade steel is changed for offset variation for workpiece turning clearance. The forming tool (8) is attached either directly to the offset carrier (6) at right angled seating faces (11) and (12), or indirectly through a detachable distance bar (22) similarly faced (23, 24). Tapered dowels 719) locate the tool.
