The present invention provides a process for carrying out ion exchange in a cycle including loading and regenerating steps, the improvement in which at least the regeneration step, the liquid streams draining from the resin during the charging of the regenerating agent and during washing after the charging of the regenerating agent which still contain regenerating agent which can be utilized are intercepted as a single fraction, which is homogeneous with respect to composition and density, and this solution is reused in the next regeneration being recycled on the resin, both this reused fraction and fresh regenerating agent being passed over the resin in a countercurrent to the loading step. |
