<p>1466321 Coloured, coated granular minerals HOECHST AG 7 March 1974 [28 March 1973] 10224/74 Heading B2E Granular mineral material, e.g. quartz sand, quartz chippings, marble chips, calcites, whiting, dolomite chippings or gypsum chippings, which has an average means particle size of 0.2 to 10 mm and in a filler in variegated stone plaster or mortar is coated at 0‹C to 100‹C with a dyestuff or pigment and with a dried polymer film applied from an aqueous dispersion of a homo- or copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising a vinyl ester, an acrylic or methacrylic acid ester, a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon, ethylene, an alpha olefine, a vinyl or vinylidene halide or acrylonitrile. The mineral granules may be immersed in an aqueous solution or suspension of a dyestuff or pigment, followed by immersion in a solution or suspension of polymer. Alternatively, a single mixed suspension or solution of dyestuff or pigment and polymer may be used. The ratio of mineral material to impregnation liquid may be 1:1 to 10:1. Preferably the process is carried out at room temperature.</p> |
