HOLLOW POLYMER PARTICLE AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To readily prepare the subject particle having a high glass transition temperature in a short time by neutralizing a carboxyl group-modified copolymer latex containing an organic solvent with a base and adding an acid to the product to lower the pH of the product. CONSTITUTION:(A) A carboxyl group-modified copolymer latex containing (ii) an organic solvent in an amount of 0.1-1000 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of (i) the carboxy-modified copolymer constituting the latex is mixed with (B) a base to neutralize at least one part of the carboxyl groups in the component, and (C) an acid is added to the component A to lower the pH of the component A to a pH of <=7, thereby providing the objective particle having one or mutually separated >= two of hollow portions.
