A thickened section 13 of the plate is penetrated by a slot 92 for each contact, continued in a shallow groove in the contact tongue of the plate. Each contact is inserted into its slot 92, engaging side grooves 91, the peak 8 of a shallow arch pressing against the roof 9 of the grooves 91 while detent 6 engages shoulder 7 on the plate to retain the contact. Contact areas 11 then lie flat against plate 5. In the vicinity of shoulders 7 the grooves 92 are covered over carrying ribs 10. The remote ends of strips 3 may be straight for connection 1 or bent 2 for insertion in a circuit board. |
