<p>1354386 Emptying hoppers TRYTHALL DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 7 Nov 1972 [16 Nov 1971] 53092/71 Heading B8S [Also in Division F2] Fluid, powder, granules and like material, is gravity fed by hopper 12 to a valve comprising a cylindrical closure 30 which can be moved axially to engage seating 46 and thereby close an annular opening 20 defined between body 14 and a suspended member 18. Agitator means provided to assist the passage of material through the valve when the closure 30 is open, comprises a vibrator in which a ball 48 is moved around race 50 by pressure fluid supplied and exhausted through passages 52 in rubber suspension members 22. The closure 30 is actuated by pressure fluid supplied via ports 36, 38 as desired to suitably act on piston 30a. Alternatively, the closure may be actuated by a handle passing through a cam-slot in the body and movable through an angle of 180 degrees.</p> |
