A chain for a fabric stentering machine consists of separate chain links attached to each other by pressure bearings; the bearings being of the knife edge type. The bolts with sockets for the knives are smaller in dia. than the bearing bushes so that they are in contact with the bearings only along a line. The lifetime of the chain is prolonged since the bolts can adjust themselves in the bores and allow for any inaccuracies in mfr. generating off-centre loads, without friction.
