Microbicidal agents for paints paper and adhesives - contg. benzimidazole-carbamate and (N,N)-dimethyl-(N')-phenyl-(N')-fluorodichloro-methylthio-sulpham- ide

New microbicidal agents contain (a) a benzimidazole-carbamate of formula (I): (where R' is 1-4C alkyl opt. substd. by a group OR3, R3 being 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; and R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl, halogen or NO2) and (b) N,N,-dimethyl-N'-phenyl-N'-(fluorodichloromethylthio)-sulphamide (II). Compsns. have high antimicrobial activity which, esp. fungicidal, is higher than the sum of the activities of the individual components. The compsns. are active against e.g. fungi, yeasts and algae. (II) is pref. used at 0.5-25 wt. pts. per wt. pt. (I). Pref. (I) is methyl 2-benzimidazolecarbamate.
