Exhaust gas silencer housing comprising at least two shell or tubular parts assembled together by means of flanged edges, whereby the one housing parts (10) flanged edge (20) has an extension (22) bent at an angle to the division plane of the housing, to enable the engagement of the flanged edge (21) of the other housing part (11). The flanged edge (20) of the one housing part (10) is only bent back over the flanged edge (21) of the other housing part (11) along one side by means of a prolongation (22) in a folded manner (22a). The second housing parts edge locates on the unfolded edge of the first part, and is connected to it by means of e.g. screws in a releasable manner.
