<p>PURPOSE:To provide a metallic mold for casting with uniformly dispersed fine holes for gas permeation, having excellent strength and toughness by mixing stainless steel powder and Cu or Cu-Sn powder with the specific size of stainless steel short fiber and sintering under vacuum or reducing atmosphere after pressurizing and compacting this mixed raw material. CONSTITUTION:At the time of casting metal or plastic material, the metallic mold with uniformly dispersed fine holes for gas permeation in order to remove the gas discharged from metal series casting raw material is used. As raw material of the metallic mold, in the stainless steel series short fiber having <=100mum diameter and 3-300 aspect ratio, if necessary, e.g. 20% of the stainless steel powder and about 4% of Cu or Cu-Sn alloy powder are added and mixed, and after pressurizing and forming the raw material to the metallic mold-state at 0.5-8 ton/cm<2>, the sintering is executed under vacuum or reducing atmosphere. The metallic mold for casting having uniform dispersion of fine permeable holes in the whole face without any deterioration in strength and toughness, is obtd.</p> |
