The pendulum-type rotor control system is for helicopters with a contra-rotating tail rotor with variable-pitch blades. The main rotor has a hollow driveshaft ending in a universal coupling in the centre of the disc to which the blade spindles are secured. Around this driveshaft there is a sleeve extending from the rotor disc down to a spherical coupling with a short second sleeve on a spherical pivot. This pivot is part of the transmission mounting, fixed to the fuselage. Control is effected by 2 radial arms fixed to the lower sleeve in the pivoting plane, 90 deg. apart. Radially opposite these there are stabiliser arms fixed to stabilisers. In combination this assembly permits the angle of the lower sleeve, and through this the angle of the rotor plane, to be varied in any direction as required.
|
