The coalface conveyor transfer for a roadway conveyor has a boxing arrangement in which the face conveyor top strand lies over the top strand of the roadway conveyor followed below by the lower strands of face and roadway conveyors. Loading windows in the top face strand pan line bottom spill into the roadway pan line below, with an obliquely mounted wiper for the window flow. This adapts better to a joint (16) fitted where the face and roadway conveying arms intersect (14, 15). The roadway arm of the system (14) has an exchangeable top guide system for easier mounting of the articulated transfer station. It is U shaped to enable the face conveyor arm to be boxed in without detracting from the joint.
