摘要 <p>Engine lubrication oil pump and water cooling pump are driven by separate motors independent of engine revolution speed. Engine lubrication takes place before engine is started and so reduces wear. The oil pump continues to run for a predetermined period after the engine has been switched off to lead heat away from the bearings. The oil pump speed is controlled by the main bearing oil pressure. A three way tap is fitted for oil change purposes. The water circulation pump is regulated by a heat sensor fitted in the cylinder head. A conventional thermostat would not be required since the pump would not be actuated until working temperature had been reached. The water pump continues to run after the engine has been switched off to avoid the formation of air locks. The radiator fan uses the same motor which may be either electric or hydraulic.</p>
