The power contact sockets (6) and the earth or protection contact are mounted in an insulated housing (5). Connector pins (12) attached to the contacts pass through the housing and serve for making connection by soldering with printed circuit conductors (16, 17, 18) on a board (15), or with conventional busbars. The pins (12) may also be utilised to locate the parts (7) of the contact socket (6) assemblies in the insulated moulding forming the socket housing (5). In a variation of the design the contact pins may be extended and bent through 90 deg. so that the printed circuit card lies parallel to the axis of plug entry.
