<p>Matrix for rotating heat and/or moisture transmitters, consists of layers of corrugated fibrous material forming axial channels, in which the layers consists of cellulose paper impregnated with0.-3% Cu as low-solubility basic carbonate or borate, and with hygroscopic salts, pref. 10-35% LiCl. The front face of the matrix is consolidated with a cold-hardening synthetic resin, esp. of urea-formaldehyde type. For use in regenerators to recover the enthalpy from the waste air from air-conditioned rooms, by alternate passage of waste air from air-conditioned rooms, by alternate passage of waste and fresh air through the matrix as it rotates. Health hazards from use of asbestos paper are eliminated and cost is reduced. Presence of Cu salts prevents microbial degradation of the paper, and the LiCl gives non-flammability as well as hygroscopicity.</p> |
