The connector has contacts totally enclosed by the insulation body in order to give immunity against accidental touching of a live part, except of course the open end where the mating contacts enter. The necessary heat dissipation can be achieved by providing ventilation openings (10) in line with each contact. Each opening is provided with a baffle piece (13) and, on the inside of the baffle, the opening is constricted (12) by projections (11) in that part of the housing moulding. The layout of baffle and constriction is such that accidental contact with the live parts through the openings (10) is eliminated whilst at the same time giving direct access to cooling air.
