发明名称 Inhibitor gegen Rost-, Schlamm- und Emulsionsbildung in Distallatbrennstoffoelen
摘要 Distillate fuel oils or lubricating oils comprise as additives divalent metal, or alkoxydivalent metal salts of a N-substituted maleamic acid prepared by reacting maleic anhydride with a C4- 30 aliphatic tertiary alkyl primary amine. Fuel oil compositions generally include 1-200 lb. additive per 1000 barrels oil and may include other components, e.g. foam inhibitors and ignition and burning quality improvers such as silicones, dinitropropane, amyl nitrate and metal sulphonates. Lubricants generally contain 0.001-0.05% by wt. of the additives and may also include conventional anti-oxidants, pour-point depressants, V.I. improvers and extreme pressure agents. The maleamic salts impart anti-rust and emulsion-inhibiting properties to the oils. Examples relate to fuel oils.ALSO:The invention comprises N-substituted maleamic acid salts of a divalent metal or an alkoxydivalent metal which are obtained by reacting maleic anhydride with a mixture of tertiary alkyl primary amines containing 4-30 carbon atoms. The preferred compounds are those derived from C12-24 amines in which the tertiary carbon atom is directly attached to the nitrogen atom. Specified metals are Hg, Ba, Ca, Zn and Sr. The compounds are generally made by reacting maleic anhydride and the amine at 65-100 DEG C. and treating the resulting maleamic acid with one or two moles of the metal alkoxide or hydroxide. Examples relate to salts derived from commercial mixtures of higher primary amines. The salts are additives for lubricant and fuel oils (see Division C5).
