Equipment secures an insulating layer against a wall, particularly against the inside of a cavity wall. It comprises a fixing plug (3) inserted via an opening (5) in the insulating layer (4) into a blind hole (6) in the wall (2). An anchoring component is expanded by the insertion of an external fixing pin, and has a hollow extension piece (8) with a supporting flange (9) at the outer end. The flange works in conjunction with a rosette ring (10) fitted over the plug and behind it. The external fixing pin can consist of an anchor piece (7) between the two parts of the cavity wall, fitting inside the plug.
