<p>1496024 Rotary mower MULTINORM BV 20 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 21496/75 Heading A1F A rotary mower comprises at least one set of two cutter members 7 above and rotatably journalled on a housing 3 to rotate in opposite directions and driven via a driving gear 63, the cutter members having cutter supports 36 with at least one cutter 37 pivotally mounted at its periphery, the cutters of adjacent cutter members being offset by 90‹ so that they pass underneath the adjacent cutter supports, and a hydraulic, pneumatic or electric motor 29 is arranged beneath the cutter support of preferably one or each of the outermost cutter members, the motor communicating through a duct system with the vehicle driving member. The cutter members with motors have hoodlike cutter supports. The motor output shaft has upper and lower ends connected to the cutter support 36 and a gear wheel 10 of the driving gear 63 respectively. Gear wheels 11 couple with the driven gear wheel 10 and those of cutter members not driven by motors. The duct system includes a switching member which switches off the motors when the mower strikes an obstacle or is overloaded. In an alternative embodiment the mower is suspended from the front of a vehicle by supporting bars 69 (Fig. 7) extending through hollow driving shafts 91 of motors 29 arranged beneath the cutter supports of each of the outermost cutter members.</p> |
