A carrier bag loop handle 11 is bonded to the outside of the bag 10 and a reinforcing strip 13 applied across the bag over the bonded handle ends with the edge of the strip 15 adjacent the mouth folded over preferably inwardly and bonded to itself and the outside of the bag to prevent the handle peeling off. The fold may contain a fibrous strip of material 22. The strip is fed from reel 17 at right angles to the flow 19 of the bag web 10, adhesive applied to the strip edge by nozzle 21 and the fold formed by tool 20. |
