1323901 Bending glass sheets GLAVERBEL 1 June 1971 [2 June 1970 29 July 1970] 26612/70 and 36766/70 Heading C1M Apparatus for bending sheet glass in which the sheets are transported on carriages along a route which includes mutually parallel forward and return portions, a pre-heating zone or zones being located on the forward portion, a cooling zone or zones located on the return portion and a bending zone 3 located at the end of return portion (Fig. 2), at the end of the forward portion (Fig. 3, not shown) or at a bridging portion between the forward and return positions (Fig. 4, not shown). The apparatus may have two alternative return routes (Fig. 6, not shown) each return route having thereon a bending zone followed by a cooling zone. Each carriage is mounted on self-orientating castors 16 and has four depending pins, two of which engage in a guide rail 5. The specification discloses a cooling zone which includes a cover member 33 (Fig. 5) which with the carriage defines an opening or openings through which cooling air can flow. |
