<p>1487595 Disc brakes GIRLING Ltd 8 Sept 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 44099/74 Heading F2E In a brake of the kind where adjacent discs are forced apart by causing relative rotation of two pressure plates with interposed balls 3, the rotation is produced by a pull-rod acting in a radial direction P and the reaction torque is taken on a fixed anchor pin 11 which is diametrically opposite the pull-rod end and is engaged by lugs 12, 13 on the plates, the abutment surfaces on the lugs being inclined with respect to said radial direction so that the reaction is not normal to the applying force.
