<p>PURPOSE:To detect the runaway of a CPU without deteriorating the program efficiency by providing a circuit consisting of a password setting part and a password comparing part. CONSTITUTION:A CPU is provided to output a password during execution of a program together with a password setting part 2 which holds a reference password, and a password comparator 1 which compares the password received from the CPU with a reference password to check whether the CPU has the runaway or not. then the CPU carries out successively the program instructions and outputs a password. This password is compared with the reference password held previously at the part 2 by the comparator 1 in terms of hardware. Thus it is not required to put the specific instructions into the program at each fixed interval. Then the runaway of the CPU can be detected without deteriorating the program efficiency.</p> |
