Machine for dispensing sheets includes a number of storage compartments each for a different kind of sheet such as banknotes or cheques. The sheets are dispensed single from the storage compartments and delivered to a receiving position. Each of the rigidly mounted storage compartments (12) is provided with a dispensing equipment (6) for dispensing single sheets in each other following sequence from the storage compartment (12). All dispensing equipment (6) of all the storage compartments (12) are provided with a common conveying equipment (8). The conveying equipment (8) is taken over the single sheets dispensed by the dispensing equipment (6) and deliver them through one or more counting stations (SW1,SW2) to equipment (58) of the receiving station (7).
